The Lonely Hour

Lexie Williams

Hello, fellow loner. This is probably your first night at the Lonely Hour. I'll be your tour guide tonight. I'm actually that little voice in your head that tells you everything you don't want to hear.

Basically, what the lonely hour is all the lonely souls, like yourself, that lay awake at night, thinking about whatever.

Over here is where you all mentally walk. It seems like everyone here has company but that's further from the truth. You're all lonely. When people tell you it's okay to be lonely, they lie. It's not okay to be alone. So, go out there and find the love of your life.

What are you thinking about? That girl in the coffee shop? The boy from the farmers market? Well, good thing I'm here because I'm going to tell you to be a nervous wreck. When you're about to say hello, just walk on because it's not worth it. Plus they won't want to date you if your life is in a mess. Good news though you have me and I'm not going away anytime soon. They might want to date you if you better yourself.

Are you thinking about the job promotion you want to apply for? Don't sign up for it. They only hire people with a smart brain and you and I both know you don't have one. You should stay at the same, boring, depressing job you're okay at. The key to bettering yourself is comparing yourself to what you once were.

Oh, hey that's new. You're thinking about your past. You were so great back then and now you became something worthless, hopeless, and full of sadness. Good for you. Not all of us can be happy.

Since you starting to get sleepy there is one more thing I'm going to tell you. You're lonely. Keep that way. You suck. Don't improve and you have a crush. Stay away because love is meaningless.

See you tomorrow!
