Greater Good

Kori Haubrich

Frayed corners of an undemanding cape
Shredded panties stale: attempted escape
(But I am the hero of this story)

Body trembling on a hardwood floor
Thighs rubbed raw, treating innocence a whore
(But I am the hero of this story)

Sandpaper hands yank at torn supple breast
Claws pierce sour-sweat skin: demand to digest
(But I am the hero of this story)

Nervous legs shake over heavy dead weight
Rotting corpse of a villain who found his fate
I am the hero of this story
But I will not recieve any of the glory
