The French Braid

From the Things I Don't Know About Women Series.

We were doing a play I wrote, and I asked Sandra's friend Maggie if she could wear her hair back for a certain scene.

"Wear it back," I said innocently. "French Braid."

She then looked at me dead serious with her finger in the air to make her point.

Yes, she used the correct finger.

"Do you have any idea how long it takes to do a French Braid?"

"No I don't," I told her honestly.

I was getting my haircut a week later when I asked my hairstylist Norma, "How long does it take to do a French Braid?"

"Oh, a French Braid does not take that long," she answered. "I could do a French Braid in fifteen minutes."

I then went to Maggie and told her that my hair stylist Norma could do the French Braid in fifteen minutes.

She then told me.

"That is still too long!"
