Elements of Assessment:

I. Student will teach or assist in teaching a secondary or college-level course in composition, language, or literature under the supervision of the faculty member.

II. Student will prepare syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment instruments for the course as needed in conjunction with the faculty member.

III. Faculty member will observe the student's performance in the class at regular intervals through the term.

IV. Student will keep a journal to reflect on the teaching experience.

V. Student and faculty member will meet regularly to debrief and discuss the progress of the course, including mid-term and end-of-term meetings.

Grade will be based on student performance in teaching, including conferences and workshops with students (50 points), teaching materials produced by the student (25 points), and self-reflection, as evidenced in the journal and teaching debriefs (25 points).
