Assignment: This paper should examine academic literature that explores practical application of linguistic theory to the classroom, workplace, or other real world scenario. This article will be used in writing your Field Reearch Paper. Locate a journal article applying some aspect of theory (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, language pedagogy, etc.) to your field of study or an area of interest to you. In the introduction, give a full reference or state the name of the author and the article and the journal/date. In the body, summarize the article in your own words and then discuss the relationship to your field/interest.

Document your outside source using MLA parenthetical references (English minors may use APA or Chicago if appropriate to their majors) and a reference or "Works Cited" page. References to the text itself should also be marked properly with quotation marks (as appropriate) and parenthetical references to the page # in the book.
