Poetry Assignment

1. Read Kennedy, Intro to Poetry Chap. 1 (Reading a Poem), Chap. 8 (Sound), Chap. 9 (Rhythm), Chap. 10 (Closed Form), Chap. 11 (Open Form), and Chap. 16 (Evaluating a Poem).

2. Write a sonnet and an open-form poem of at least ten lines.

3. Post your drafts in the Forums for your classmates and professor to review by Week 9. The final versions will be due at the end of the semester.

4. Each poem will be worth 10 points (20 points total).
